Our mission team went to North Carolina to help with hurricane recovery.
Members of the team: Bob Gray, John Spencer, Karyl Melick, Nathan Rudgers, Ann Pasley, Randy Pasley, David Snyder, Lara Snyder, Emily Snyder, Sundi Bales, Gail Davis, Steve Vanderwolf, Rockne Keyek, Harrison Hullinger, Ryan Hill, Tammy Hill, Susan Baccus, Terri Whitehead, and Colby Brockman.
The mission trip began with a stop in Savannah for some sightseeing. The team spent Sunday night there and hit the road early Monday. They arrived in Rose Hill mid-afternoon.
Several groups (more than 100 volunteers) are being housed in a large building. After an orientation and dinner, some of the teens went out on the grounds to play, the adults relaxed, and Harrison played the guitar.
Work began on Tuesday, helping rebuild homes that were flooded by Hurricane Florence. Work included gutting a house, mudding corners, and removing hardware.
The team labored through Friday. The damage to these homes was too extensive for the repairs to be completed in a week, but more volunteers will be coming to pick up where we left off.

Plan to join the mission team for lunch on Sunday, Sept. 22, to hear their stories and see more pictures.
Thanks to Karyl Melick for sending reports and photos.
