Notes and thoughts on Rev. Walk Jones’ message August 31, 2014

Say "yes" to God!So come, I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:10-11)

Moses was a “nobody,” a fugitive, and God chose him. God chooses unexpected people in unexpected places to do unexpected things.

The places were we encounter God are holy places. They may seem ordinary, they may not seem holy to others, and we may be surprised when we realize God is there, but they are indeed holy places.

But Moses said to God, “If I come to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” (Exodus 3:13)

You can’t pin God down with a name. What you can do, however, is know that God loves us, God hears the prayers of all of us, and God does not change.
