Important Notice! The picnic is moving!
2017 Church and Preschool Fall Family Picnic, Saturday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. will be held at TPC.
Unfortunately, Central Winds Park sustained damages during Hurricane Irma that make it unsafe, so we are moving our picnic to TPC’s Fellowship Hall.
It’s going to be a great day of food, fun and fellowship. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided; please bring a side dish or dessert to share. After lunch, we’ll play bingo facilitated by the incomparable Dave Grow and the children can play on the playground. Due to safety and space concerns, we will not have any other outdoor activities.

Exploring Membership Lunch, Sunday, Oct. 22, 12 p.m., McDonald Conference Room. Coffee Connection for Women. Hanging of the Greens and Potluck Dinner. Christmas is around the corner! Please join us on Sunday, Nov. 19, 3:30 p.m. for a unique service to decorate the sanctuary with banners, poinsettias and wreaths while singing Christmas carols. After the service we will have a potluck early dinner at 4:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Ham will be provided. Family Fun Night at the Orlando Magic game. Plan to join us for the faith and family night at the Amway Arena on March 2, 2018. Enjoy seeing the Magic play followed by a Christian music concert. Mark your calendars and watch for more details.
Harmonious Sunday Nights. Join us for the fun and fellowship! The children are honing their musical talents with Lisa Langston. The youth are building their relationship with our Lord with Kenne and Christina Sparks. Women are growing in their faith through a Bible study. Please come and see what it’s all about. We begin the evening with dinner together at 5:30 p.m. Bible study and youth will meet 6-7 p.m.At 6-6:30 p.m., children age 3 through kindergarten will meet with Lisa while children in grades 1-5 will be with Ester. Cereal Sunday Results. 60 boxes of cereal and the equivalent of 35 quarts of milk were delivered to the local food bank.
Open Forum Adult Class. In November, the class will start a new study related to Advent and Christmas using a new book and DVD by Adam Hamilton titled Faithful: Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph. From his beginnings as a humble carpenter to his all-important role as the earthly father of Jesus Christ, Joseph’s place in the nativity is sometimes overlooked. However, we can learn valuable lessons from his courageous actions crucial to the birth of Christ and God’s plan for our salvation. The book is $13.50. Open Forum always welcomes new people. 2017 Global Christmas Market. Winter Park Presbyterian Church’s annual Christmas market is Saturday, Nov. 11, 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 12, noon – 1:30 p.m. Start your Christmas shopping early. The market features various nonprofit vendors offering unique gifts for you, your family and your friends including handcrafted jewelry, ornaments, Christmas décor, scarves, soaps, whimsical items, plants and more. Used Shoes to Help the New Oviedo Boys & Girls Club. Please donate your gently used shoes to help build a new Boys & Girls Club in Oviedo. The shoes will be sent overseas to help disadvantaged people in third-world countries start their own businesses. The Boys & Girls Club will receive cash based on the total weight of shoes collected. Share Your Joys & Celebrations. We want to share in the happiness when good things happen to the folks in our congregation. Have you had a special birthday or anniversary? Gotten a promotion, a new job or a new home? Become engaged or married? Have you or someone in your family had a baby? Or has anything else happened in your life that’s causing you to celebrate? Let us say a prayer of praise and thanks with you by adding your joys and celebrations to the weekly prayer list. Children & Youth
Children’s Sunday School. Children ages 2-4 meet in Ms. Melanie’s preschool classroom, room F12 in the Activities Building. Children in grades K-2 meet in the Chapel (the room in front of Fellowship Hall). Children in grades 3-5 meet in Room F9 in the Activities Building. Student Ministry. Our middle and high school students meet for Sunday School in the Youth Room Sunday mornings, 10-10:45 a.m. They come back Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. for dinner followed by a program at 6 p.m. For more information please contact Kenne Sparks at firstname.lastname@example.org or Christina Sparks at email@example.com.
