Service and Missions
We at Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church have a tradition of actively supporting Christian Missions within our communities, a tradition which we encourage all of our members to support with their time, talent, and treasure. A brief list of where you might find an area in which to help follows:
Food Collection: The congregation is reminded to bring non-perishable food donations to the church every Sunday. Some is distributed from our own food pantry, some is given to local agencies for distribution.
2 Cents a Meal Offering - The congregation saves pennies at home for each meal eaten. Donations are collected the second Sunday of each month in order to provide funding for hunger relief activities within our Presbytery and the world.
Meals on Wheels - This charity prepares two daily meals for shut-ins in our community. Our volunteers provide the delivery service.
Fresh Start - We prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 8th day of each month for men at the Christian Service Center in Orlando who are making a "fresh start" in life.
Recycled Newspapers - We get a penny a pound for the papers placed in our paper-recycling bin on our church property. Money received is applied to our 2 cents a meal program. |
