Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church Preschool Philosophy and Mission Statement | Admission |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Thanks for visiting us! It is a privilege to take this opportunity to introduce you to what we have to offer your family. Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church Preschool of Oviedo was founded in 1983 by the congregation of Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church as a mission for the young mothers of the church to enjoy a day for themselves. In its twenty-five years of operation, it has grown and evolved from a Mother’s Morning Out into a thriving preschool with an impeccable reputation. Our school is licensed with the State of Florida Department of Children and Families and offers classes from One-Year-Olds through Kindergarten Readiness. The thirty dedicated staff members provide a safe, warm, loving, and nurturing environment. We strive to provide a balance of intellectual, social, spiritual, and physical growth. We form a partnership between school and home so that we are all working together. Please feel free to contact me at (407) 671-2225 or email me at dharned@mytpc.org, with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you. In His Love, Philosophy and Mission Statement
Mission Statement The students of Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church Preschool come from many communities in the Orlando area, and from various social, religious, and economic backgrounds. We does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its education policies, admissions, or any other school administered programs. All children are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Families interested in admission to Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church Preschool are required to complete a registration application accompanied by a non-refundable registration and curriculum supply, and activity fee. Families are invited to take a tour of the school Monday - Friday 9am-1pm. Children must be the appropriate age for the respective class by September 1 of the school year. All classes are staffed with a teacher and teacher assistant. We follow the Creative Curriculum (www.teachingstrategies.com) and Conscious Discipline (Dr. Becky Bailey, www.lovingguidance.com.)
All TPS teachers hold a CDA (Child Development Associate) or a college degree. Staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid. Everyone is fingerprinted and receives a background check by county and state agencies. Under DCF licensing requirements, all staff is required to have 45 hours of training in childcare and 10 hours of continuing education each year. The staff is selected for their early childhood experience and educational background. Each staff member brings her unique, special qualities and styles. Our school family is enriched by the creativity, dedication, and energy of these fine women. |
