TPC is a Stephen Ministry Church

Have You Considered Being a Stephen Minister?

TPC is in the process of reactivating its Stephen Stephen MinisterMinistry program. We need men and women of our congregation who are willing to answer Jesus’ call to serve as your Stephen Ministers, beginning with 50 hours of useful training in Christian caring skills. This training will be offered by our Stephen Leaders and will include a variety of topics in caregiving such as listening, Christian assertiveness, maintaining boundaries in caregiving, and grief. The training is distinctively Christian and focuses on: God as the one who cures as we care.

What Do Stephen Ministers Do?

Stephen Ministers do all the following.

  • Provide quality one-on-one ministry as trained, caring church members reaching out to others in time of need,
  • Engage in a caring relationship that focuses on the unique needs of one person and that lasts as long as the needs exist.
  • Receive support, guidance, training, and supervision from our Stephen Leaders and from one another in order to continue giving effective Christian care.
