TPC Volunteer Service Opportunities

This is TPC’s “help wanted” page—it’s a listing of ways you can be involved in the missions and activities of Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church. Each listing includes a contact person so you can get more information. Please note that to reduce the amount of spam our team leaders get, the e-mail links on this page are not live. Please copy and paste them into your e-mail program.

Attention Computer Aficionados

The Worship Team is creating a new team called “Worship A/V Development Team.” We are looking for a leader and team of creative volunteers to create PowerPoint slides and assemble weekly services on the Sanctuary computer system. If you are creative, semi-savvy on the computer, understand the basics of Power Point and Windows, and would like to contribute the creation of worship services, please contact Dan Purcell at airwolf1303@cfl.rr.com. Now we know there are many who satisfy these criteria, so please think about how you can impact worship, serve your God, and deepen your faith! As always, we will employ a team approach led by someone who is willing to oversee the week-to-week operation.

Garden Caretaker

Do you enjoy spending time outdoors by attending to beautiful roses, nurturing exotic plants, weeding, and watching God’s creations develop into a garden where others may come to spend time meditating and in prayer? We need a volunteer who can work one to two hours either weekly or every other week in the Shirley Harris Lee Garden to maintain the garden’s beauty. Set your own schedule. If you are interested, please contact Dwight Walters at pappapist@aol.com or 407-671-4818.

AV Team Computer Operator

We have an immediate opening for a computer operator on the AV Team for the 11:00 a.m. service. The only skill required is the ability to click a mouse. You follow along with a script and advance the slides that appear on the screens in the sanctuary as appropriate.

We have several people who do this and our goal is to keep enough people trained so that no one has to “work” more than one or two Sundays a month. Training is free and fast! If you’d like more information, contact John Overbey at 407-695-7055 or joverbey@cfl.rr.com. If you’d like to sit in the sound booth and observe for a Sunday before deciding, you are welcome.

Deliver Meals on Wheels

Every Thursday morning TPC members pick up meals at the Casselberry Senior Center on Secret Lake by 9 a.m. and deliver meals to two routes in the area. It take about two hours to complete the meal delivery, depending how much visiting you do with the clients. This is a rewarding service to our community. Contact Judy Grieve judygrieve@mac.com.

Provide Food and/or Serve at Fresh Start

On the 8th day of every month TPC delivers food to the Christian Service Center's Fresh Start program. We leave the church by 6:00 p.m. when the 8th is a weekday and 5:00 p.m. when Sunday. You can provide food or take the food to the center to share time with the men who are working hard to improve themselves. The list for the food needed is always on the rolling bulletin board.
