Safety & Security

We have taken steps to make our campus as safe and secure as possible. If you see anything that is a potential hazard, please notify the church staff or a member of the Buildings & Grounds Team as soon as possible. All of our buildings are equipped with monitored security alarms. If you need after-hours access to our facility, please see Karen Gray to arrange for a key and security code.

Medical Emergencies – Defibrillator

TPC is equipped with an AED or automated external defibrillator. It is located in the narthex (lobby at the entrance to the sanctuary) mounted on the west wall (to the right as you enter). This device can be used in the event of sudden cardiac arrest to restart the heart and enable the victim to regain consciousness if the device is employed quickly enough to be effective.

The manufacturer of this equipment (Philips) says that no training is required to operate it and that verbal instructions are provided for each step of the process. Given this information, anyone on our church property may be called upon at any time to apply the defibrillator to a victim and save a life. If you would like to become more familiar with the defibrillator equipment before an emergency arises, you can see an online demonstration by clicking here.

We hope that the defibrillator never needs to be activated, but if the need does arise, we want to make sure someone is there who has enough knowledge and confidence to take quick action and save a life. The demonstration only takes a few minutes and will provide enough information to enable you to start the process and then follow the subsequent verbal instructions.
