Church Teams
Below is an alphabetical list of the teams that serve Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church & School and a brief description of their activities. Members are welcome to participate in the efforts of any team on which they feel called to serve.
Buildings and Grounds
The Buildings and Grounds Team oversees all elements of facilities maintenance and usage.
Christian Education
The Christian Education Team plans and oversees the education programs, including Sunday School classes for all ages, Bible studies, and more.
Communication
The Communication Team coordinates the content of all of the church's communication vehicles (website, bulletin, newsletter, Yahoo! list, advertising, and others); handles publicity for church events; manages the church calendar; and generally promotes and encourages strong communication between the various entities within the church and the community.
Deacons
The Deacons at Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church & School are, first of all, called by God to their office. They are elected, ordained and charged to make sure that those who are vulnerable to falling through the cracks don’t. Deacons are responsible for ministering to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith.
Each Deacon is responsible for a group of families in the congregation and is available to respond to them with assistance, both material and spiritual. Deacons are called from all corners of the congregation and are different from each other, but they are all equipped with the necessary basic equipment: an ear to hear; a shoulder on which to lean; and a heart to care.
Evangelism and Member Care
The Evangelism and Member Care Team is responsible for reaching out through programs and other activities to share the gospel and Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church with the community, as well as helping new members become an active member of the church family.
Fellowship & Young Families
The Fellowship Team fosters caring relationships within the body of the church by providing many opportunities for people to get to know one another on a personal level, such as encouraging small groups and planning church-wide picnics, retreats and meals. Our focus is on getting together in many different and interesting ways.
The Young Families Team organizes programs and activities for families with young children, including Wondrous Wednesdays, game nights, movie nights, the annual Eggstravaganza at Easter, park days during the summer, and more.
Finance
The Finance Committee is composed of Elders, Church Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and members of the congregation who are responsible for the receipts and disbursements of the church funds. Financial records are maintained and reports are submitted periodically to members of the congregation through the newsletter, bulletin and personal statements.
Personnel
The Personnel Team deals with issues related to the church’s paid staff.
Service and Mission
The Service and Mission Team coordinates an abundance of service opportunities locally and throughout the world.
Worship
The Worship Team plans regular and special services, prepares the sanctuary for worship, and works to provide meaningful worship experiences while remaining faithful to God.
Youth
The Youth Team organizes programs and activities that promote Christian values in a fun atmosphere for youth grades 6 through 12.
